Joan Seecof is Licensed Certified Social Worker, and clinician trained at The Training Institute for Mental Health (TI) in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She describes her style as eclectic as it draws from many schools of analytic thought.
She has been in private practice for over 40 years. She treats adults and couples in midtown New York City. Her specialties include adoption, the creative process, issues regarding family, children, relationships and professional / work satisfaction.
She is a member of the New York State Society of Clinical Social Workers, and The American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work (AAPCSW).
Joan has served as an instructor at the Training Institute in group supervision and latency courses. I work as a supervisor for the Training Institute and offer private services. She supervises social work students from NYU, Fordham and Smith College of Social Work.
